The race had to be shortened due to snow overnight that caused the boardwalk to be snowy/icy. Fortunately, that didn’t stop the organizers from putting on the race and from runners getting in the Holiday spirit to dress as Santa and still run!

Shorter Distance due to Weather

Even though the weather caused the course to be shorten to about 2 miles (from a 5k), it was still a very fun race. It was a chilly morning but running along the boardwalk at Rockaway Beach with the snow on the beach was a wonderful view. Getting a Santa costume and all the runners dressing as Santa to run was also very funny to see and the organizers were very great at pivoting to keep the run enjoyable for everyone!
