The Complete Runner's Day-by-Day Log

I've always been a little obsessive about the numbers.  I'm one of those people who can't move when my watch is charging - because there's no point in taking any steps if I don't get credit.  So over the last few years, I've been on the lookout for the perfect way to keep track of my mileage - whether printable pages or some kind of a journal. Mostly, I just gave up and wrote everything down on a sheet of lined paper. But then a friend found this book.

I absolutely love that I now have plenty of room for each day. I can write down my mileage, where I went, who went with me, and any other notes I feel like making (and, as it turns out, now that I have the space, I tend to fill it). It also has a space each week for tallying mileage and carrying it over to the next week - so maybe I won't end up scrambling to add up all of my annual mileage in December...

In addition to daily tracking pages, there are monthly planning pages, race info pages, a space for charting weekly mileage, and plenty of pages with tips and motivation.

Admittedly, this log book is probably more than most people need. And that makes it somewhat big and bulky - not something that you can stash in your waist pack.  But if you're a little bit obsessive about tracking numbers and notes - like I am - this daily log book is definitely worth picking up.

Experience

So far, I've filled the calendar spaces with my race dates, and I've  been using daily spaces to track mileage, time, location, and notes on each workout. My friend has decorated hers with stickers to liven it up. I find that I note a lot more now than I used to - because I have the space. It's a good mix between mileage log and daily journal.

Abigail Lock I just purchased one of these! Excited to see how its structure will keep me accountable to logging by hand.

Kristin Kramer It's almost exactly what I was looking for! I'm definitely a pen-and-paper kind of person, so I love being able to track everything in this book. It just makes it feel more...real...to me than just looking at my apps.
